Secular Musicians Are Not Evil; But Not All Songs Are Good For Christians.- Akesse Brempong

One of the gospel reggae artistes based in Ghana, Akesse Brempong has said on the TIG Show on Hitz FM that secular musicians are not evil and that some of their songs can be sung in our homes, church etc.

However, the contemporary gospel artiste has also made it clear that Christians shouldn’t listen to songs that promote violence, promiscuity and songs that are sexually explicit.

He explained that, songs have spiritual connections and are powerful which could have effects on the individual. He elaborated on the fact that there is a difference between sacred songs and secular songs. He also made the point that God didn’t call any form of music to repentance and that it is connected to one’s culture.

Even as some people still think gospel artiste, Joe Mettle doesn’t deserve the overall VGMA Artist of the Year, Akesse Brempong thinks otherwise. ‘Let’s give the young man a break, he deserves it.’ He quickly added.
